Bowie 6th Grade Center

To address crowding issues at their current Middle School, Amarillo ISD voted to construct a new 69,000 square foot facility for sixth grade only students at Bowie Middle School. The building encompasses the latest in technology to enhance the student experience including smart technology in every classroom and collaboration areas. Built on a small 4-acre site, the design is 2 story with an open balcony to bring the first and second floor commons together in a tall naturally lit space. The gymnasium is constructed of pre-cast concrete panels and structural concrete tees to provide a safe room for the students and staff in the event of a tornado.

  • “Throughout the design process, they have been attentive to our needs and desires, all while recognizing our budgetary guidelines. They have been very detailed with their design and have given us exactly what we asked for, and more!” Shawna Ham – Former Supervisor, AISD Construction and Maintenance – Amarillo ISD

Maxor Mail Order Prescriptions

Maxor’s mail order prescription operations needed a facility to house pharmacists, pharm techs and new automated prescription filling equipment.  Maxor wanted to portray their corporation as a technology leader as well as a full service pharmacy.  Maxor wanted forward looking exterior with prefinished aluminum composite panels and some brick elements reflecting historic downtown Amarillo.  The automation equipment on the fill floor can fill, and ship 8,000 prescriptions a day.  Translucent panels provide diffused light on the fill floor.  Open office areas have natural light from clear story windows on the north and east.
